Cause of death: Eclampsia
Eclampsia is a rare but serious condition where high blood pressure results in seizures during pregnancy. Seizures are periods of disturbed brain activity that can cause episodes of staring, decreased alertness, and convulsions (violent shaking).
Antoinette was Mario Cannizzaro's first wife. They were married on August 15, 1931. Antoinetta was eight months pregnant when she contracted Eclampsia, a complication associated with the pregnancy. She died 10 months after the marriage, on June 8, 1932. She was only 24 years old. She was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York. The unborn child did not survive.
